Andhra Pradesh: Trapped elephant rescued from India well

An elephant in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh was saved by rescuers after he accidentally fell into a well.

Locals heard the cries of the trapped animal late at night as it struggled to stay afloat, and immediately called for help.

The rescue operation - which lasted hours - ended after government officials used an excavator to demolish the walls of the well.
