A two-year-old boy in the southern Indian state of Karnataka has been extricated from a borewell after he was trapped inside for almost 20 hours.
The boy fell head-first inside the 16ft (5m)-deep open borewell on Wednesday evening while he was playing on a farm.
Authorities supplied the child with oxygen and then dug a parallel pit, about 21ft (6m)-deep to rescue him, PTI news agency reported.
