Amnesty uncovers hospital crisis in North Korea
The human rights group, Amnesty International, has said North Korea is failing to meet even the most basic health needs of its people.
Based on interviews with North Korean defectors, the watchdog found evidence of hospitals lacking most medicines, and of major operations being carried out without anaesthetic.
One surgery patient described how she was ''screaming so much from the pain, she thought she was going to die''.
