New Zealand declares curfew after 7.1 earthquake
An overnight curfew is in place in Christchurch after yesterday's 7.0 magnitude earthquake on the South Island.
Prime Minister John Key has said it was "a miracle that no-one lost their life" despite widespread damage and power cuts.
The epicentre was 55km (35 miles) north-west of Christchurch, at a depth of 12 km (7.5 miles).
Phil Mercer reports.
