A pair of giant pandas make their debut in Japan zoo

Thousands of people flocked to a local zoo in Tokyo to see two giant pandas, who made their debut on Friday, delayed because of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.

Shin Shin (female) and Ri Ri (male), both five-years-old, had reached Japan from China on February 21 after a journey of nearly 4,000 km (2,500 miles).
