Australian flood in New South Wales a 'disaster area'

Water levels are beginning to fall and some residents are starting to return to their homes in New South Wales.

Parts of the state were declared a natural disaster following days of extreme weather.

Thousands of people were forced to evacuate as many homes were cut off by the flood waters.

State Emergency Service (SES) officials said they have received hundreds of calls for assistance.
