Who owns the Spratly islands in the South China Sea?

Five Philippine congressmen have travelled to a group of disputed islands in the South China Sea on what they are calling a peace mission.

They said it was a private trip to meet residents of the Spratly islands and support the Philippines' territorial claims. But China has said the visit could sabotage the relationship between the two countries.
