Fake bomb victim's father praises emergency services

The father of an Australian teenager who had a fake bomb chained to her for ten hours has praised the emergency services for their help.

Police have confirmed a note had been attached to the device around 18-year-old Madeleine Pulver's neck, and that the motive for the attack was extortion.

Speaking to journalists after his daughter was released from hospital, William Pulver thanked the officers who stayed with her "with little regard to their own personal safety", saying they were "an incredible comfort" to her during her ordeal.
