Western Australia: Tearful scenes as Australia’s ‘hermit kingdom’ opens its border
Western Australia has opened its borders to the rest of the country after being shut for 697 days.
The state closed its borders in April 2020 at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic to quell the spread of the virus.
