Moscow smog prompts health and travel warnings

People in Moscow are being told to stay indoors and avoid physical exertion as thick smog from the worst wildfires in modern Russian history covers the city.

Flights have been grounded and there are reports of people wearing facemasks inside to escape the haze and smoke.

Daytime temperatures have remained close to 40C, fuelling the fires outside the city.

Richard Galpin reports from Moscow.
