France veil ban meets with defiance from some Muslim women

France has become the first country in Europe to ban the Islamic veil.

Anyone caught wearing the Muslim niqab or burka in public is liable to a fine of 150 euros and lessons in French citizenship.

However the ban has been met with defiance by some.
