Bertie Ahern hails Queen's upcoming visit to Ireland

On Tuesday, Queen Elizabeth will travel to Ireland in what will be the first visit of a British monarch to the Republic of Ireland.

The last British monarch to visit was George V, a century ago, when Ireland was still under British rule.

The Queen will attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the Garden of Remembrance in Dublin, which honours those who died fighting for Irish freedom.

The former Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern told the BBC's Allan Little the Queen's trip signified an important moment in improving relations between Ireland and Britain.
