Pope assistant drawn into child abuse scandal

The Irish government has published a new report into the concealment of child abuse by Catholic priests.

The report uncovers serious failings into the way authorities dealt with cases of abuse, and says the church cared more about its reputation than the welfare of children.

It also says that only three years ago reports of abuse were still being kept from police.
