Greek PM George Papandreou: 'Fight we have to win'

The eurozone debt crisis deal has been hailed by Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou, who said it marked the fact that EU leaders "support Greece".

Leaders of the 17 eurozone nations had been in meetings since Wednesday trying to hammer out a deal to help Greece put its national finances in order and to underpin other European economies such as Italy.

After talks in Brussels, European leaders agreed banks holding Greek debt should accept a 50% loss.

Mr Papandreou said the battle against debt "is a fight we have to win".
