Greek debt: Euro leaders prepare for 'showdown'

Greek PM George Papandreou is to meet French and German leaders in Cannes on Wednesday, after his decision to hold a referendum on austerity measures plunged the EU's debt rescue plans into turmoil.

The BBC's James Robbins said that European leaders were preparing for a showdown with "the Greek car skidding all over the road" and diplomats unsure how to "avoid a really serious car crash".
