Spain: Socialist government facing defeat

Little wonder Spain's Socialist Government is expected to tumble to defeat in a general election this weekend.

The conservative opposition Popular Party is riding high in the polls - promising a programme of shock therapy, which it claims can restore international confidence in Spain, and turn the economy around.
