Spain socialists admit poll defeat

Spain's ruling socialist party has seen a crushing and humiliating defeat in Sunday's national elections, as voters gave the centre-right Populist Party a clear majority.

The issues of high unemployment, serious debts and slow growth dominated the election, and prime minister designate Mariano Rajoy has warned voters there will be "no miracle" recovery.
