Spanish views: 'Rajoy will have to do a lot quickly'

Spain's centre-right Popular Party (PP) has won a resounding victory in a parliamentary election dominated by the country's deep debt crisis.

With almost all the votes counted, the PP, led by Mariano Rajoy, is assured of a clear majority in the lower chamber.

His socialist rivals, in power since 2004, have suffered the worst defeat in their history.

Among voters and Spanish media there is a sense that Mr Rajoy will now have to act quickly to manage the country's economic problems.
