Rally in Moscow as polls suggest Vladimir Putin wins Russian election

Exit polls in Russia suggest the Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin, has been re-elected as president - a position he held for eight years until 2008.

Mr Putin, who was one of five candidates, is said to have received almost 60% of the popular vote.

But his opponents claim there has been widespread ballot-rigging and independent observers say they have received reports of busloads of people being driven around to cast ballots multiple times.

The BBC's Bridget Kendall describes the scene in Moscow where a Putin victory party is already being held.
