Costa Concordia salvage operation announced

The operation to remove the wreck of the Costa Concordia will be the biggest of its kind, at a cost reported to be at least $300m, according to salvage firms and the ship's owners.

More than 30 people lost their lives when the cruise liner capsized off the coast of the island of Giglio in January, just hours after leaving port.

Alan Johnston reports from Rome.
