Racism overshadows the start of Euro 2012

The Euro 2012 football championships has got under way but the problem of racism has already surfaced.

At a training session for the Dutch team in Krakow in Poland, players were subjected to racist chanting from fans in parts of the stadium.

European football's governing body, Uefa, acknowledged the incident and has given referees the power to stop matches should there be any racist behaviour.

England manager Roy Hodgson said he knew racism could be a problem at the championships but that the team were ready to deal with it.
