Why Roma people are now taking refuge in Berlin

The German city where the genocide of the Roma, or Gypsy, people was planned 70 years ago, has become the place where they now find refuge.

In the suburb of Neukoelln in Berlin, a large complex of run-down apartments is being done up to become home for more than 100 families from a poor village near Bucharest in Romania.

It follows a report by Amnesty International, which found that the Roma are among the most persecuted people in Europe.
