Costa Concordia rock will create Giglio memorial

Salvage teams are trying to remove a huge chunk of rock wedged into the hull of the stricken Costa Concordia.

Part of the rock will be used as a memorial for the 32 people who died when the cruise liner sank off the coastline near the island of Giglio in Italy.

It needs to be cleared away before the ship can be tilted upright and eventually moved.

Rebecca Donovan reports.
