Kate Nash: 'No evidence' for Pussy Riot conviction
Musician Kate Nash has defended members of the Russian punk band Pussy Riot over their conviction for hooliganism.
Three members of the group were found guilty over their protest in a Russian Orthodox Church, against the church leader's support of President Putin.
Kate Nash told BBC News that it was "important for artists to challenge the world they live in".
But Judge Marina Syrova said Maria Alyokhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Yekaterina Samutsevich, had "crudely undermined social order" during their action in February, and sentenced them to two years each in prison.
