Red Cross marks 150th anniversary

The International Committee of the Red Cross, the world's oldest aid organisation, is marking its 150th anniversary.

Founded in 1863 in response to the suffering of wounded soldiers abandoned on the Italian battlefield of Solferino, the organisation works in nearly all the world's conflict zones.
