Pope Benedict XVI offers final blessing

Pope Benedict XVI has held his final Sunday Angelus from the Vatican before he retires.

Following the prayer, he thanked visitors in a number of languages for their "many expressions of gratitude, affection, closeness and prayer".

The Pope's resignation, the first in nearly 600 years, takes effect on Thursday.
