Francis begins his challenging papacy with a prayer

Pope Francis has begun his first day at the helm of the Catholic Church with a Mass alongside the cardinals who elected him.

The 76-year-old has been swift to stamp his style on the papacy, turning down the papal limousine and carrying his own bags.
