Inauguration Mass for Pope Francis in Rome

At least one million people are expected to gather at the Vatican in Rome for the Mass for the inauguration of Pope Francis.

They include high-level delegations from 132 countries, six reigning sovereigns, and more than 30 heads of state.

The ceremony has been shortened to two hours instead of the three-hour service in 2005 when Benedict began his papacy.
