PIP implants scandal: Trial under way in Marseille

The trial of five executives of PIP, the company that supplied thousands of women with faulty breast implants, has opened in Marseille, southern France.

The sale of faulty implants caused a global health scare with an estimated 300,000 women in 65 countries affected.

The former head of PIP, Jean-Claude Mas, and four members of his management team have been charged with aggravated fraud.
