Vigil for victims of Turkey protests

The Turkish government has said it will hold a public vote on Istanbul's Gezi Park which has been the focus of violent protests for the past two weeks.

The announcement came after Prime Minister, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, met representatives of the protesters.

He had earlier given demonstrators 24 hours to leave the park and officials have again said that the protesters should go home.
