European Commission VP Neelie Kroes: Spying 'not acceptable at all'

The vice-president of the European Commission, Neelie Kroes, has said that it is a "shock" that US intelligence services have potentially been spying on EU offices.

Responding to the allegations, Ms Kroes said that spying was "not acceptable at all... but we shouldn't be that much surprised".

She added that "it should never, ever happen again".
