Turkey protesters clash with police near Taksim Square

Police in Turkey have used tear gas and water cannon to disperse protesters trying to enter a park cordoned off by police in Istanbul.

Thousands of people had converged on Gezi Park, near the city's Taksim Square - which was a focus of unrest in June.

Taksim Square has been the site of regular Saturday protests for a number of weeks, with demonstrators demanding justice for a protester who was killed by police in the clashes.
