Spain's PM Mariano Rajoy to face Congress over Barcenas claims

Spain's prime minister is due to appear before the country's Congress on Thursday to respond to allegations of corruption within his conservative Popular Party (PP).

The central claim is that documents published by El Pais newspaper in January are a list of undeclared or secret cash payments linked to senior members of the party written by the party's former treasurer, Luis Barcenas.

The PP says the documents, and anything that can be inferred from them, are false.
