Runners take on Mont Blanc endurance challenge

Intrepid endurance runners have been taking part in a 168km race around Mont Blanc, spanning three Alpine countries - France, Italy and Switzerland.

The 2,300 competitors began their journey from Chamonix on Friday, and raced through the night to the finish back in the French ski resort.

25-year-old Frenchman Xavier Thevenard emerged victorious in a time of 20 hours and 36 minutes.
