Visitors head underground to explore Channel Tunnel

Members of the public enjoyed special access to the Channel Tunnel over the weekend with guided tours taking visitors deep into the tunnel which links Britain and mainland Europe.

The tours run by the operator Eurotunnel were part of the European Heritage Days initiative which sees buildings not normally accessible to the public opened up for a short time.
