World Cup 2022: Fifa's 'regret' at Qatar workers' deaths
Fifa president Sepp Blatter has expressed his ''sympathy and regret'' for the deaths of workers in connection with the construction of World Cup sites.
The Guardian newspaper reported last week that dozens of Nepali workers had died on building sites in Qatar over the summer.
Speaking at a news conference, Sepp Blatter said Qatar had to ''take the lead'' on the issue and that it was not the responsibility of Fifa.
Football's world governing body, Fifa, is setting up a commission to consider whether the 2022 World Cup in Qatar should be switched to winter because of extreme summer temperatures.
