Soyuz capsule brings Sochi Olympic torch back to Earth

A Soyuz capsule carrying the Sochi Winter Olympic torch and three astronauts has landed in Kazakhstan after a historic spacewalk.

The capsule touched down to Earth after a three-and-a-half hour descent from the International Space Station, where the torch was taken outside for the first time.

Russia's Fyodor Yurchikhin, Nasa US astronaut Karen Nyberg and Italian Luca Parmitano made the trip from the space station.

The event was all part of elaborate preparations for Russia's first Olympics since the Soviet era.
