The demise of the car tax disc

One of the most eye-catching announcements from the Chancellor, George Osborne, was the move to end car tax discs.

Drivers will still have to pay for vehicle excise duty, but they will no longer have to display the piece of paper in your windscreen.

It is the end of nearly 100 years of the tax disc.
