French no longer 'as relaxed' about affairs

French society may be becoming less tolerant of affairs, a news correspondent suggests.

The French are often to have a more relaxed view about sex and infidelity than the British.

But intense press coverage of President Hollande's alleged affair and the Dominique Strauss-Kahn case suggest attitudes may be changing.

John Lichfield, Paris correspondent for the Independent, told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "The idea that this is accepted in French society is breaking down."
