Ukraine protests: Kiev demonstrators clash with police

In Ukraine, there have been clashes between protesters and police outside parliament, as the opposition movement renews pressure on the country's president.

Demonstrators have ripped up cobblestones to throw at police, while others have thrown smoke and petrol bombs. Police have responded with stun and smoke grenades and rubber bullets.

David Stern, reporting from Kiev, said tension was rising as protesters faced off against "a wall of riot police."
