Ukraine crisis: Protests spread outside capital Kiev

The violence in Ukraine is spreading outside the capital, with disturbances and protests reported in cities and towns across the country.

Anti-government protesters captured and handcuffed a regional governor during a rally in the town of Lutsk on Wednesday.

Oleksandr Bashkalenko was appointed by President Viktor Yanukovych.
