Ukraine crisis: MPs appoint interim president

Ukrainian MPs have voted to appoint speaker Oleksander Turchynov as interim president, following the disappearance on Saturday of Viktor Yanukovych.

Opposition protesters in Kiev have maintained their presence in the city centre, with opposition figures Yulia Tymoshenko and Vitaly Klitschko urging them to stay until their aims are achieved.
