Ukraine crisis: 'Need to stop talking and need to act'

The Russian military has given Ukrainian forces in Crimea until 03:00 GMT on Tuesday to surrender or face an assault, Ukrainian defence sources have said.

The head of Russia's Black Sea Fleet Aleksander Vitko set the deadline and threatened an attack "across Crimea".

Kostiantyn Yelisieiev, Ukraine's ambassador to the EU called on the UK and America to take urgent action with a view to stopping this escalation.

"We need to stop talking and need to act in a determined manner", he told the BBC.
