Climate of insecurity in Crimea
Pressure on the Ukrainian interim government in Kiev is mounting by the day.
The southern province of Crimea is to hold a referendum on whether to join the Russian Federation.
In a show of support for Kiev, President Obama has invited Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk to the White House for talks.
But back home the referendum is supported by many among Crimea's ethnic Russian majority.
