National Front makes inroads in Avignon in France
The ancient city of Avignon in the south of France may, for the first time after Sunday's municipal elections, have a mayor from the far-right Front National.
Former civil servant Philippe Lottiaux was brought in to contest the seat by Front National leader Marine Le Pen in November last year.
If he wins, it will be a signal that French voters are increasingly tired of two-party politics, and in particular with Francois Hollande.
