Ukraine crisis: Viktor Yanukovych decries Crimea 'tragedy'

Ukraine's deposed President, Viktor Yanukovych, has called Russia's annexation of Crimea a "tragedy".

In his first interviews since fleeing to Russia, Mr Yanukovych told the Associated Press and Russian channel NTV that had he been in power, he would have tried to prevent the annexation.

Mr Yanukovych left Ukraine in February after three months of protests against his decision to reject an association agreement with the EU.
