Ukraine conflict: US condemns Russia gas warning

The United States has accused Russia of using its energy supplies "as a tool of coercion" to try to control Ukraine.

It follows a warning by Russia that some European countries could face gas supply cuts because of Ukraine's energy debts.

The criticism comes as Ukraine's interim prime minister is meeting regional leaders in the east of the country on a mission to end a stand-off with pro-Russia protesters.

Nick Childs reports.
