The tale of two Europes: New and old

Trade union protests are due to be held across Europe on Thursday.

In recent years the annual May Day rallies have been a focal point for anger at public sector cuts across the the European Union.

There will be celebrations though in other parts of the continent as they mark a decade of EU membership.
