Francois Hollande: Eurosceptic vote 'must be confronted'

French President Francois Hollande has said the EU must reform and scale back its power, following a surge in support for Eurosceptic and far-right parties.

Mr Hollande said the EU had become too complex and remote and said the focus should now be on boosting the economy.

He added: "This vote is there and it needs to be confronted".
