Ukraine conflict: Russia accuses US of 'smear campaign'

The European Union has expanded its blacklist of Russian individuals and organisations which will be subject to asset freezes and travel bans in protest at Russia's role in the Ukraine crisis.

Meanwhile, Russia has accused the United States of conducting a "smear campaign" over its alleged involvement in the conflict.

The US says it believes rebels shot down the Malaysia Airlines jet with a Russian-provided SA-11 Buk surface-to-air missile, probably by mistake.

The row comes as more bodies of victims from flight MH17, which crashed in Ukraine, arrived in the Netherlands.
